Enhancing the lives of children and families within the Leeds area
Weekenders Club is a play scheme for children and young people aged between 5 and 18 with moderate to severe disabilities in the Leeds area. We welcome children and young people who would struggle to access a similar mainstream activity.
Our Out and About Project is for teenagers between 14 and 18 years. We organise local events/outings each month and invite members of the Out and About Project to come along.

Welcome to Leeds Weekend Care Association

Leeds Weekend Care Association is the umbrella organisation which oversees 3 projects, all committed to enhancing the lives of disabled children and young people and their families. We are a registered charity, supported by Leeds Social Care and our service is offered citywide to those families and carers who would benefit from a short break from caring for their children with inclusive needs.

Our 3 projects are:-

  • Weekenders Club – a weekend play scheme for 5-18 year olds. This is held at Vine in Leeds 6. We operate 47 weekends during the year. A program of summer trips is on offer each year and of course lots of fun activities and games on Saturdays and Sundays
  • Out and About Project – a social group for teenagers aged 14-18. Around 8 teenagers are supported by a staff team of 5 to go to the theatre, cinema, eat out, go bowling, play snooker – anything our young people would like to join in with – it’s their choice.
  • Music Mondays Group – Specifically for those with a musical interest between 10-18. Sited at the South Leeds Youth Hub, using a recording studio, performance room and a singing/art room, a small group of 7-9 young people can work with a team of musicians to create music and have fun.
