Carole and Carly Conquer the Yorkshire Three Peaks

Last weekend, Carole Harrison and her niece Carly set out to complete the Yorkshire Three Peaks to raise money for Leeds Weekend Care Association.

Carole works for the Owlcotes branch of M&S in Pudsey, who have adopted Weekenders as their charity of the year.

The challenge was short notice as Carly was back on holiday from working in Malaysia for two weeks, but the pair worked quickly to start raising funds.

On Saturday 4th August, they set out on their hike and completed it in an impressive nine hours.

‘It was a gruelling 24.5 mile hike in the hot sun (we actually did 27 miles as we took a wrong turn at the start), but what an amazing day we had’ said Carole.

‘Stunning scenery and views from the tops of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. We met some lovely walkers and animals and bumped into some old friends along the way.’

The pair have already raised an amazing £273.00 in a short space of time, with more still to come; they are hoping the final figure will exceed £400.

A huge thank you to Carole and Carly for their hard work and support. Thanks to their fundraising, we can continue to provide short breaks for children with additional needs.
