We are always on the look out for new trustees to join our existing team on the LWCA Management Committee because we know that the current strength and future development of our service relies on good management and fresh ideas.
Our trustees come from a range of very different backgrounds, but they are united in their willingness to give some time, commitment and effort to ensuring that all LWCA activities are well run and well managed.
The Management Committee ensures that LWCA creates and delivers good, social, safe experiences for the children, young adults and families who use our schemes. Our emphasis is on play, fun and interaction.
The Committee meets once a month to review what is working well, what needs improvement or investment and how we can best respond to challenges. We oversee the finances and are responsible for all policy issues. We continually discuss, debate and decide how best to strengthen and improve what we provide for the children and young adults of Leeds. The Committee ensures that LWCA sets itself high standards and aims. The trustees also act as a sounding board for the managers who run all our schemes, they do not, however, have day-to-day involvement in the delivery of any of the services.
Our trustee meetings are informal, but important. They are also an opportunity to eat too many biscuits and drink quite a few mugs of tea.
Should you want to see how we work and want to explore whether you might like to join us please contact the office on 0113 216 5133 and email@example.com and they will put you in touch with our Chair Caroline Bond. She will be happy to give you a call to explain more.
We are open to anyone with a willingness to get involved. We do not require specific skills, though obviously any and all experience and proficiencies are welcome. More importantly, we are looking for people who care enough to volunteer, who will turn up regularly and who will contribute their opinions and ideas!
Please do get in touch if you feel that might be you.
